    Set user text and number entries as a condition

    In this article you will find configuration instructions for conditions referring to texts and numerical values.

    These are listed in the user interface of the rules under Select a condition > User's input answer condition.


    Comparison of a number input with a value: If an entered number is > / < / = /… a number

    Condition: The selector user enters a numerical value within a question of the type Number Field. This entry is compared with a user-defined value. If the condition is met, the platform executes the action.

    1. Click on Select a condition > If an entered number is > / < / = /… a number

    2. Under Answer value, select the answer. Please note that you can only select Number Fields.

    3. Under equals, select the operator.

    4. Define the numerical value with which you want to compare the user input.

    For step 4 you can choose from the following options:

    • Enter a numerical value in the gray field.

    • Under Answer value, select another number field from the questionnaire. The platform then compares the two user entries with each other.

    • Select a user-defined variable under Variable value.

    • Under Product attribute value, select an attribute from the product data. The platform then compares the user value with the values of the selected table column.

    In the following configuration, the condition is that the wall area entered by the user is greater than 480 square meters:


    Comparison of a text input:  If an entered text is equal to / contains… a text

    Condition: The selector user enters a text within a question of the Text Field type. This entry is compared with a user-defined text. If the condition is met, the platform executes the action.

    1. Click on Select a condition > If an entered text is equal to / contains… a text

    2. Select the answer under Answer value. Please note that you can only select Text Fields here.

    3. Under equals, select the operator.

    4. Define the text with which you want to compare the user input.

    For step 4 you can choose from the following options:

    • Enter a text in the gray field.

    • Select another text field from the questionnaire under Answer value. The platform then compares the two user entries with each other.

    • Select a user-defined variable under Variable value.

    • Under Product attribute value, select an attribute from the product data. The platform then compares the user entry with the values in the selected table column.

    In the following configuration, the condition is that the user enters the city of Düsseldorf in the text field:
