    Article summary

Some questions that you ask the user within the Selector are not intended to influence the result and are used for market research purposes. An example of such a question could be a query about the average age of the target group. To ensure that these answers have no effect on the product recommendation, actively remove the answers to the market research question from the matrix recommendation by ticking them off at exclude_answers . These answers are no longer taken into account when calculating the recommendations.

⚠️ Note: Automatic exclusion of responses for filterRecommendation

If you set the option filterRecommendation in the Algorithm workbench area to Choose Recommendation Method, all answers are automatically excluded from the matrix logic and you do not need to do anything else. The field exclude_answers is irrelevant when selecting the filter logic and is even omitted completely, as you can see in Fig. 2. This is because a filter must be configured for the filter logic for each question so that suitable products are displayed on the results page. However, if you do not create a filter for a question, the selection of the corresponding answers in the questionnaire has no effect on the recommendation.
